Outpatient Services

Outpatient services at UM BWMC can cover lab and imaging work, infusion, ostomy, palliative care and many other areas.

Outpatient Anticoagulation Clinic
The Outpatient Anticoagulation Clinic provides anticoagulation medication management, specifically managing and monitoring warfarin (Coumadin®) therapy upon physician referral.

Outpatient Infusion Center
The Outpatient Infusion treats patients who need special injections, infusions like chemotherapy and biotherapy drugs, long-course IV antibiotic therapy, and transfusion of blood or platelets.

Ostomy Outpatient Clinic
The Ostomy Outpatient Clinic offers a variety of care services to patients with a urinary or fecal diversion. An ostomy is surgically created for the discharge of body wastes.

Outpatient Imaging
University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center provides comprehensive diagnostic imaging and state-of-the-art treatment services. Radiologists work closely with medical and surgical specialties to provide a full range of imaging services.

Outpatient Rehabilitation
The University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center Rehabilitation offers a range of services to treat patients suffering from physical and communicative problems due to disease, disability or injury. Services include cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech-language pathology.

University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Group (Physician Practices)
The University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Group is proud to offer primary care and specialty care at outpatient offices throughout Anne Arundel County in partnership with University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

Palliative Care
UM BWMC offers outpatient palliative care to patients with serious or chronic illness. Palliative care provides relief of symptoms and stress related to illness, individualized care planning including physical, psychosocial and spiritual components, and guidance with complex treatment choices.

Outpatient Dietitian Services
UM BWMC offers personalized and comprehensive nutritional guidance from a registered, licensed dietitian (RD, LDN). The dietitians help patients set personal goals and create individualized plans for nutrition therapy to alleviate symptoms of certain medical conditions.

Laboratory Services
UM BWMC offers outpatient laboratory services including routine/STAT phlebotomy draws and therapeutic phlebotomy. Patients must schedule appointments in advance, register in admitting and verify their insurance coverage.

UM Center for Advanced Fetal Care
UM BWMC is home to a satellite office of the University of Maryland's Center for Advanced Fetal Care. The center provides maternal and fetal medical care for high-risk pregnancies, ultrasound imaging, fetal abnormality testing and more.

Transitional Care Center
The Transitional Care Center at UM BWMC provides one-time visits to assist with disease education, medication management, and social needs like transportation and finding a doctor.
