The Tate Cancer Center hosts various events for both patients and physicians during the year. Below is information about two of the Center's signature annual events.

National Cancer Survivors Day at Tate Cancer Center

Cancer Survivors Day 2019

2021: To keep our survivors safe because of COVID-19, we are having an online celebration in 2021. We created webpage featuring a video about a survivor who didn't let cancer stop her wedding, a free inspirational playlist on Spotify, art projects, self-care videos and a variety of articles.

Celebrate with us and enjoy the resources.

2020: While COVID-19 prevented us from celebrating in person, we had a very festive week hosting live and pre-recorded online workshops and we continue to offer many resources in partnership with the University of Maryland Cancer Network. In addition, our team at the Tate Cancer Center created a video that features messages from the staff and a relaxing tour through the Healing Garden.

2019: On Wednesday, June 5, 2019 more than 200 cancer survivors and their friends and family attended the Tate Cancer Center's fifth annual Cancer Survivors Day to celebrate those impacted by cancer. The theme of this year's event was Hope Grows Here. Attendees enjoyed food, music, crafts and a special appearance by comedian, magician and motivational speaker Mark Robinson. Educational information was also presented throughout the event for patients, their friends and family members who have been touched by cancer.
